From the lookout tower on Csere Hill, you can enjoy unrivalled views of the surrounding villages and, on a clear day, the south coast.
The lookout has been standing on the current Csere Hill at 298 metres above sea level since 1935. It was renovated in the early 2000s. It offers a wonderful view of Lake Balaton. It is crossed by several hiking trails. It was built in 1935 from red Permian sandstone on the 298-metre-high Csere Hill, designed by Jenő Gulyás Padányi.
It was the first stone lookout tower in the Balaton highlands. Originally 6.5 metres high, the lookout was renovated between 2001 and 2003 and a 5 metre high wooden scaffolding was added. It was originally called the Miklós Horthy Lookout, and in the 1950s it was renamed the Freedom Lookout. After its renovation in 2001, it was renamed to its present name, the Csere-hegy Lookout. The lookout can be visited every day from 11:00 to 19:00.
