"Nekem a Balaton a Riviéra" (For me, Lake Balaton is the Riviera)... Who wouldn't know the hit song by Lehel Németh and Anikó Felföldi?
Well, supposedly already Károly Eötvös, the 19th century writer-poet and famous traveller has called this part of Lake Balaton, from Alsóörs to Tihany the Balaton's Riviera.
We, who live here understand very well what these words mean. The area around Alsóörs, Felsőörs, Lovas, Paloznak and Csopak has many similarities with the world's Rivieras: the Mediterranean lifestyle, the vast amount of sunshine, the waterfront, the flora and fauna of the surrounding hills, the cultural traditions and opportunities, all make the area worthy for the name: the Balaton's Riviera.
